Three years of master planning led to the approval by the membership for a significant renovation to the classic Tudor Style building which was originally design in the 1920’s by renowned clubhouse architect Clifford Wendehack. Consistent with the current private club environment, the addition of a member causal bar and dining options were priorities of the master plan and the membership. The plan was also to included a full renovation to the pool area, pool locker rooms, member grill and pro shop facilities. Covered dining which is vital to clubs was also included in the project goals.
One of the most significant elements of the project is the newly designed Overlook dining terrace featuring a modern bifold wall system that creating an integration of interior and exterior spaces expanded what was a small awning covered seasonal patio. The new fully conditioned members’ space is designed and fit out for four season use. The member bar re-design borrowed from 1920’s clubhouse photos which included lofty spaces and cathedral ceilings. The new lounge incorporates booth and dining seating and large bar area that seats 15 with multiple tv’s. Adjacent to the bar is the casual dining room which opens to the enclosed dining terrace with coffered ceilings, custom lighting and banquettes to provide seating options. A new feature created is an expanded wine area which includes active bottle storage and a private dining experience. A lower-level grill room and walk out space that links to a new golfer’s bar was added to for the post-golf experience. The exterior materials borrowed from the architectural Tudor style including brick with unique surface finishes and grouting along with cast stone elements to coordinate with the original architectural limestone details. All new black architectural windows were incorporated throughout the building including doors and the bi-folding wall system.
